The effect of artesunate on the haematological indices, hepatotoxicity and histology of the liver was investigated in 25 male adult albino Wistar rats collected from University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan. The animals were divided into five groups of five each, Group A serve as a control, where normal clean drinkable water and feed were administered. Groups B,C, D and E were administered intra-peritoneally with 100mg/kg, 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg and 500mg/kg artesunate three times daily for a period of 7days.
